Digital Communications
The task of this lecture is to present the principles of systems for digital transmission as an extension to the basic principles that are already given by other lectures. With the help of this it should be possible to understand and develop current and future systems. This includes the elements of channel coding and modulation. Basic current digital systems like DVB, Bluetooth and HiperLan are described and compared.
- Mathematical basics of coding
- Simple block codes
- BCH codes
- Reed-Solomon codes
- Convolutional codes
- Code concatenation
- Coded modulation
